Network Engineer

Charles Simon Associates are currently looking to recruit a Network Engineer on a permanent basis in Manchester. This role will be working for a fantastic and well established company who have recently been provided with a funding to improve their overall IT Infrastructure across the entire business. In addition to this fantastic role there is a highly attractive benefits package including a final salary pension option.

 

Location: Manchester, Work from Home 2 days per week

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum plus benefits

 

Skills/Requirements for the Network Engineer:

  • Previous experience within a similar role is vital
  • Extensive experience around both Routing and Switching
  • Experience of BGP and ideally OSPF Routing protocols
  • Strong MPLS experience
  • Previous experience of implementing SD-Wan either individually or as a team
  • Firewall experience is highly desirable
  • ITIL certification is highly desirable

 

Start date is ASAP for the Network Engineer

 

The Network Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Implementing along with 3rd parties a number of networking projects around Switching and replacing cabinets, in addition to more general infrastructure day to day projects
  • Being part of the escalation route for network support issues from the Service Desk teams
  • Being part of and becoming involved with the IT Continual Service Improvement plans
  • Owing the creation and maintenance of tech support documents and ensure all documents are reviewed and updated in a timely fashion
  • Working with the project team and external 3rd parties to assist with the transition of projects in to BAU support ensuring all documentation and training is complete
  • Working with the support team to identify gaps and requirements within the teams knowledge and tool set and feedback requirements in line with the budget review processes
  • Working with business to deliver projects
